Discover Scuba Diving
Try dives for the absolute beginner - no need to be a swimmer!
Discover Scuba Diving
This is PADI's programme which enables the absolute beginner to experience the fun of SCUBA diving easily and safely. It is open to all - those who have not experienced it before, and of course, for those who have and want to do it again!
All equipment is provided, as is transport to & from your accommodation address if required.
Once at the dive centre, you are registered in, fitted with a wetsuit, mask & fins. The scuba equipment is transported to the dive site by our vehicles.
Whilst in the dive centre, you are given an in-depth briefing explaining the dive, and going through the safety aspects of diving. This takes around 15 minutes.
It is a very short walk to the dive site where you are fitted with your waiting scuba equipment. We then walk into the water to waist-deep level. Here we practice the breathing so that everyone is comfortable before diving under the water. When you are ready, each person is assisted under the water with one of our Instructors – the water is 1mtr deep and you have a minute or two to get settled. When all in the group are happy, we begin diving.
We stay within the confines of the bay which is protected on either side by rocky outcrops. The depth increases very gently until we reach the end of the bay – this is at a maximum depth of 5-6mtrs which you will barely notice because the water is so clear. On the way around we stop and look at the abundant marine life, feed the fish (only if you want to), and at all times you are under the watchful eyes of our PADI Instructors and PADI Divemasters.
Here at Manta Diving we pride ourselves on our safety and comfort concerns, and with this in mind, we only take in small groups, the maximum is normally 6 persons and we have a staff member in with every 2 clients, so there is always someone on hand in the unlikely event you need any assistance.
The bay we use (Playa Chica) is perfect for the diving beginner, clear warm water, lots and lots of marine life to see, sheltered and perfectly safe. It is so good for this purpose, that we use it for all of our training rather than a swimming pool - there are no fish in a swimming pool!
It really is a wonderful opportunity for the non-diver to share the experience of the underwater world. SCUBA diving is very special and something you will remember long after your holiday is over……

and there's more!….
Follow up dive
No doubt you will have thoroughly enjoyed the experience of PADI's Discover Scuba Diving, and it is often the case that this leaves you wanting more – this is where the Follow-Up dive comes in.
On this dive, the initial procedure is the same, but once in the water, we show you how to individually control your buoyancy which allows you to move through the water with total freedom - diving feels like flying through the underwater world!
Now you feel like a real scuba diver. When you are comfortable with this, we dive around the end of the bay into a beautiful area with great rock formations where you will see some different species of marine life. You will reach a maximum depth of 12 mtrs, and whilst this might sound a lot deeper, the water is still lovely and clear and you will not notice the increase in depth, but you will be thrilled with the views you have of the open ocean.
All this for just € 39
